I’m preparing to attend the winter SCBWI Conference with some trepidation. It’s the first children’s writing conference I’m attending, and I haven’t yet published a children’s book. SCBWI has provided some very helpful information, especially for first-timers like me. Don’t approach editors or publishers with a pitch for your story; don’t even bring copies of your story; listen and learn – that’s what you’re there for. I’m looking forward to it.
