What Readers and Reviewers are Saying

What a sweet book! Perfect for children of Jewish and Christian parents (or any other religion). Helps explain the rituals of both faiths without getting into theological differences, but also without getting stuck on them. For children 2-10 years old it is perfect. Parents and grandparents will enjoy reading it also.

This book was recommended to me by the director of our Hebrew School. Good for all children especially those from parents of interfaith marriages! I encourage all to buy it. Well worth the money. Constructed well.

Absolutely delightful book. Perfect for children whose families celebrate both winter holidays and even for those who celebrate one.

We celebrate both holidays and this is the first time we’ve found a book that explains how both holidays can work together! Our toddler loves the rhythmic, rhyming words too.

I love how the children teach and learn from each other (rather than from the adults), and share the most important part of the holidays – family.

This delightful and deceptively simple story reflects the joy that children feel at holiday time.

Jewish Book Council (April, 2015)

This bright, happy picture book handles the Hanukkah-Christmas dilemma from an interesting point of view. The art frolics. The layout stands out with words denoting sounds or special sights floating above the text in large font. Everyone shows interest and respect. Sophie, not the parents, explains the reasons behind the customs to her friend; Jewish identity internalized without fanfare.

Interfaith Family

We love this book, and it feels long overdue (in a good way).

This picture book could meet a need for families that celebrate both holidays
